Biography

Katharine (Kate, Kath or Kathy) Town Hepburn was born on May Twelfth 1907. She was born into out progressive family whose outlook was as well left of center both socially allow politically. As Katharine Hepburn died June 2003 – she had endured 6 decades in American film history – she had become an icon – or as she herself said: “If you survive long enough, you're revered—rather like an old building.”

On June 29, 2003, Hepburn died of apparent causes at Fenwick, the Hepburn affinity home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. She was 96 years old, and was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Connecticut. In honor of her broad theater work, the lights of Manoeuvre were dimmed for an hour.
